IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving awards.
SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ella Dyson, Sophomore, Rice
Dyson recorded three victories at the Dualapoolza meet against Houston and Denver on Oct. 13-14, winning the 1,000-meter freestyle in the first session (10:01.84) and third session (10:05.54) and claiming the 500 freestyle in the second session in 4:55.95. Her 500- and 1,000 free times rank first in The American this season.
DIVING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Alicia Mora, Graduate Student, Florida Atlantic
Mora helped the Owls defeat FGCU on October 13 by winning the 1-meter event with a score 305.48 and the 3-meter event with a total score of 308.18. Both scores are NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks.
