Relive Emma McKeon & Company’s Celebratory Jump Into Paris Pool

The very last swimming event of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France was the women’s 4x100m medley relay.

The United States established a new World Record en route to gold, while Australia captured silver and China earned bronze.

While the Aussies didn’t top the podium, the foursome of Kaylee McKeown, Jenna Strauch, Emma McKeon and Mollie O’Callaghan still celebrated their runner-up achievement in style.

After collecting their medals, the quartet enthusiastically jumped fully clothed in their podium kits into the La Défense Arena pool to bask in the moment.

30-year-old McKeon posted the special moment on social media, stating, ‘What a way to end my Olympic career.’

Shortly after the aquatic action concluded in Paris, McKeon revealed her decision to retire from competitive swimming.

The veteran had been a mainstay on the domestic and international racing circuit for well over a decade, appearing in 3 Olympic Games.

McKeon is known as Australia’s most decorated Olympian, having collected an astounding 14 medals across Rio, Tokyo and Paris. Her career pinnacle came in Tokyo where she topped the podium in both the 50m and 100m free events.

In addition to this relay silver, McKeon helped the Aussies win women’s 4x100m free relay gold and mixed medley relay bronze.

Perish the thought that swimmers should have a bit of fun once in a while, especially those that pose a threat to America’s diminishing dominance in the pool.

Wow. Jumping in after a meet is generally overrated and unheard of when you lose.

I hope each and every one of them is banned from the next Olympics for such an outrageous and disgraceful act.
