RACE VIDEO: Watch Abbey Weitzeil Break American Record in 100 Free, Plus Post-Race Interview

Watch above as Abbey Weitzeil breaks the American and U.S. Open Records with the fastest 100 yard freestyle in history by any swimmer of any age in legal competition.

Weitzeil, from the Canyons Aquatic Club, swam a 46.29, which broke at the very least the three following National Records:

  • American Record – Simone Manuel, 46.62, 2014
  • U.S. Open Record – Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace, 46.61, 2012
  • 17-18 National Age Group Record – Simone Manuel, 46.62, 2014
