Ponti & Mityukov Grab Gold To Close Swiss Championships

2025 SWISS LC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2025 Swiss Long Course Championships wrapped up tonight from Oberkirch but not before Olympic medalist Noe Ponti snagged another victory.

Taking on the men’s 50m free, 23-year-old Ponti stopped the clock at a time of 22.61.

That was enough to clear the field, with Noah Reuben Retzler next to the wall in 22.92 followed by Robin Yeboah who touched in 22.94.

As for Ponti, the fly ace’s time represented a lifetime best, overwriting the 22.63 he put on the books this past February in Dubai.

Roman Mityukov was another multiple event winner, closing his championships campaign with a decisive victory in the men’s 100m back.

Olympic medalist Mityukov produced a solid time of 53.96, comprised of splits of 26.14/27.82 to get the job done. The 24-year-old now checks in as the 9th-swiftest performer in the world this season.

Additional Notes

  • National record holder Antonio Djakovic topped the men’s 400m free podium in a result of 3:52.90.
  • The women’s 50m free saw Angelique Brugger grab gold in 26.19.
