This will mark the first time this year that the Pac-12 Networks will air the Olympian live on a social media platform, reaching the largest audience to date, and providing footage that can be viewed from any region of the country. It is also the first time Ledecky will appear on Pac-12 Network television.
Pac-12 conference affiliated athletes won 55 total medals in 12 sports during the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio. Stanford claimed 27 of those individual medals. During the Olympics, Ledecky broke the world record in the 400-meter and 800-meter freestyles, and also holds the current world record in the 1,500-meter freestyles. Overall, she has broken world records 13 times and American records 21 times. Currently, the November Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month is undefeated in the NCAA in the 100 free (1 race), 500 free (4), 1000 free (1), and the 1650 free (1), having won the 100 free (50.10) in her first collegiate meet (at Oregon State, 10/14). Ledecky is one of the Pac-12’s most notable Olympians, continuing to top records in meets this season.
