Grace Wagner from Waxhaw, North Carolina has announced her intention to swim at the U.S. Military Academy beginning in the fall of 2022.

A junior at Marvin Ridge High School, Wagner recently contributed to the Mavericks’ runner-up finish at the 2021 NCHSAA 3A State Swimming and Diving Championships with a 5th in the 50 free (24.12) and a 6th in the 100 free (52.01). She also anchored the state-champion 400 free relay (51.65) and swam the leadoff leg on the 4th-place 200 free relay (24.12).
Wagner joined Life Time North Carolina Swim Team this school year, having swum for SwimMAC Carolina as recently as last summer. In March, competing at MOC Championship Final hosted by South Carolina Swim Club, she lowered her lifetime bests in nearly all her best events: SCY 50/100/200 free and 100 breast and LCM 50 free and 100 breast.

Army West Point had a truncated season this year, with the Patriot League postponing the conference meet until April. At the 2020 championships, it took 23.79/51.38/1:52.15 to final in the 50/100/200 free. A 1:06.27 got a second swim in the 100 breast, while it took 56.15 in the 100 fly. Wagner will join the Black Knights with Erin Son in the fall of 2022.
