Matthews, North Carolina-native Mary Weinstein will head north to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania in the fall to swim for Bucknell University.
“Bucknell’s campus is exactly what I was looking for, and the team atmosphere is a stand out. Overall, the academics and swim team is an ideal fit for me.”
Weinstein attends Providence High School in Charlotte and trains with SwimMAC Carolina. She is a versatile IMer who excels in breast and fly. Her best performances over the last two years have been:
100y breast: 1:05.37 | 100m breast: 1:15.57 |
200y breast: 2:21.60 | 200m breast: 2:44.26 |
100y fly: 58.85 | 100m fly: 1:06.43 |
200y fly: 2:06.22 | 200m fly: 2:26.98 |
200y IM: 2:09.42 | 200m IM: 2:27.59 |
400y IM: 4:36.24 | 400m IM: 5:13.70 |
While Weinstein’s 200 and 400 IM times would have barely missed scoring range for the 2014 Patriot League Championships, both her 100 and 200 breaststroke times would have placed her right on the A/B-final cusp. This is great news for the second-place Bison who continue to try to unseat Navy at the top of the League standings.
Weinstein will join fellow-commit Lindsay Smalec in the Bucknell class of 2019.
