Madeline Dorish, a junior at Mount Lebanon High School in Pennsylvania, has recently announced her commitment to swim for Lehigh University. Dorish will be joining the school’s class of 2024.
Dorish has 2 Junior National cuts in the 100 breaststroke (SCY) and the 100 backstroke (LCM). She also was part of Mount Lebanon High School’s girl’s 200 medley relay that won Pennsylvania’s 3A state. Dorish swam the breaststroke leg with a split of 28.33.
Dorish, who currently swims with Racer X Aquatics under coach Jim Skirboll, specializes in the 50 freestyle and both breaststroke events.
“I am extremely excited and proud to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at Lehigh University. This would not have been possible without the love and support of my family, teachers, coaches, teammates, and friends. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing team and community. Go Mountain Hawks!”
At Lehigh’s Patriot League Championships this year, Dorish would have made finals in two of her events with her current best times.
Most notably, in the 100 breaststroke Dorish would have placed 4th with her current best time of 1:03.02. She would have placed 13th in the 200 breaststroke with her time of 2:23.02.
Dorish will begin her swimming career at Lehigh beginning in the fall of 2020.
