Caroline Beene of Baton Rouge, Louisiana has signed her National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Alabama.
“I am so excited and blessed to be able to swim for the University of Alabama next year,” Beene said. “I felt so at home there and loved all of the people on the team. I think that the incredible coaching staff there will take me to the next step in my swimming career. I look forward to helping the team succeed. Roll Tide!!!”
Beene swims for Crawfish Aquatics with Coach Jayme Cramer. She is a Winter Junior Nationals qualifier in the 50 Freestyle and was the captain of the Louisiana Zone team during the summer of 2014. She has won the high point award for the state of Louisiana multiple times, and holds 12 Louisiana swimming state relay records. Beene also swims for her high school, Saint Joseph’s Academy. She was awarded the 2013 Baton Rouge Advocate Swimmer of the Year and has been a high school state champion a number of times.
Beene’s best times (SCY/LCM) include:
50 Freestyle – 23.70/26.89
100 Freestyle – 51.83/58.91
200 Freestyle – 1:53.47/2:13.95
100 Backstroke – 57.18/1:06.54
100 Butterfly – 56.50/1:04.36
Beene has been steadily improving over the past few years. She has dropped a second in her 50 Freestyle and two in her 100 Freestyle since 2012. Beene’s 200 Freestyle is now a whopping 12 seconds faster that it was two years ago. In her 100 Backstroke and 100 Butterfly events, she has dropped two seconds and three seconds, respectively. She looks forward to continuing to improve over her senior season before heading to Alabama.
Cramer feels certain that Beene will excel with her new team and coaches. “Alabama is a really great fit for Caroline and her skill set,” Cramer said. “She will thrive under the direction and guidance of Denny and Jonty who have done amazing things with the Tide since they came in three years ago.”
Caroline is not only a Great Swimmer but also a great and Beautiful person inside and out.
Love her so much and her Grandfather Coach Bobby Beene would be over the moon with her success❤️
