Lindsee Newman First of 2021 Class to Commit to Wingate University

Lindsee Newman, a current high school senior from Monument, Colorado, has committed to swim for Division II Wingate University in Wingate, NC. Newman will graduate from Palmer Ridge High School in spring 2021 join the Bulldog’s class of 2025.

Newman is a current swimmer for Pikes Peak Athletics, along with swimming for her high school at Palmer Ridge. At the 2018 CO Swimming Senior Long Course Championships, she placed 2^nd in the 400 IM LCM (5:16.66) and 5^th in the 400 freestyle (4:40.00).

More recently, she placed 4^th in the 500 freestyle at the CUDA Classic earlier this year. She has also placed top 25 twice at Sectionals and is a Futures qualifier. She is the first of her class to be recruited to swim at Wingate.

“I am excited to be challenged by my teammates and reach BIG goals. It is an honor to be recruited to swim with such an incredible swim team. I look forward to learning and growing with my Bulldog family. I love the Faith, Knowledge, and Service motto and plan to execute that in all I do during my 4 years!”

At the Bluegrass Mountain Championships with the Bulldogs, Newman would have placed 6^th in the 1650 freestyle (17:33.14), 9^th in the 500 freestyle (5:06.15) and 11^th in the 400 IM (4:37.83) with her current best times.

At the Bluegrass Mountain Championships, the Bulldogs placed 4^th as a team. They also had 25 team members named to the CSCAA Scholar All-American list.
