Kenisha Liu Wins Two More, PASA Wins Team Titles at La Mirada Sectls

Brea Aquatics’ Kenisha Liu stormed to two more victories in La Mirada tonight, taking the 200 IM and 50 free. In the IM, she posted a 2:15.75 for a new PR by .15, ahead of Marin Pirates’ Riley Scott (2:16.56) and Aquazots’ Katie Glavinovich (2:17.91). Then in the 50 free, Liu returned to slice a couple tenths off of her lifetime best to win the race at 25.71, with Beach Cities Swimming’s Alexandra Crisera hitting the wall in 2nd (26.23).

On the men’s side, Brentwood Seawolves Daniel Comforti had a huge swim in the 200 IM to take the victory. Coming in with a lifetime best of 2:06.01, he won the finals race in 2:03.66, well ahead of 2nd place Bryce Mefford of the Sierra Marlins (2:05.13). Then, in the 50 free, PASA’s Albert Gwo just nipped Sierra Marlins’ Liam O’Haimhirgin at the wall, 23.20 to 23.25, as both men hit new best times.

To finish out the meet, PASA dominated both 400 medley relays. Grace Zhao split a 1:09.25 on the breast leg for the PASA women, as they finished in 4:12.29 to top La Mirada Armada (4:15.30), the latter team getting a 59.69 fly split from Catherine Sanchez and a 56.85 anchor from Taylor Ault. For the men, PASA got a 54.68 fly leg from Alex Liang, and they overcame Mefford’s 56.38 lead-off to touch out the Marlins 3:46.73 to 3:48.93.
