Produced by Coleman Hodges.

Reported by Tony Carroll.

With her second win of the night, and fourth on the weekend, Katinka Hosszu won the women’s 100 backstroke with the fifth fastest time in the world this year. She reached in, touching out Kathleen Baker with her time of 59.47. Baker added second place points as the only other swimmer under one minute with a 59.86.

This was the first time in Baker’s career that she had been under the 1:00 barrier, and she is now only the 10th woman in American history to do so. Kathleen is a senior in high school and trains with SwimMAC, and will be attending Cal to become a golden bear in the fall.
