  • 2020 NCAA “A” Cut – 1:50.50
  • 2020 NCAA “B” Cut – 1:57.11
  • 2019 NCAA Invited Time – 1:54.01
  1. Beata Nelson, Wisconsin, 1:49.51

Beata Nelson knocked 1.37s off her time from this morning, further cementing her position as the fastest in the nation in this event so far this season.

While Nelson was individually dominant, NC State racked up the team points in this event, taking the next five spots. Emma Muzzy just touched out teammate Katharine Berkoff for 2nd, 1:52.22 to 1:52.29, and Kylee Alons (1:53.20), Kate Moore (1:53.35), and Mackenzie Glover (1:53.88) were all under last year’s NCAA invite time.

WOMEN’S 100 BACK – FINALS

  • 2020 NCAA “A” Cut – 50.93
  • 2020 NCAA “B” Cut – 53.94
  • 2019 NCAA Invited Time – 52.46
  1. Beata Nelson, Wisconsin, 50.05
  2. Katharine Berkoff, NC State, 51.97
  3. Alyssa Marsh, Duke, 52.65

There weren’t any huge drops from this morning, but swim fans still got treated to a 50.0, courtesy of Beata Nelson. That’s her 7th-fastest swim ever, and her fastest time in November, except for the 49.67 she put up at last season’s Texas Invite.

NC State freshman Katharine Berkoff took 2nd in 51.97, about a second off of her lifetime best, while Alyssa Marsh took 3rd in 52.65 after winning the 100 fly earlier this session.

WOMEN’S 400 MEDLEY RELAY – TIMED FINAL

  • NCAA Automatic Cut – 3:31.66
  • NCAA Provisional Cut – 3:33.78
  1. NC State – 3:31.40
  2. Arizona State – 3:33.88
  3. Wisconsin – 3:34.44

The NC State women picked up their first win of the day in the women’s 400 medley relay. The front-half is the strength of this relay, with backstroker Katharine Berkoff (51.85) and Sophie Hansson (58.38). That pair could have them in the lead at the NCAA Championships in March, with Sirena Rowe (53.56) and Kaylee Alons (47.61) closing the relay out. Rowe on the butterfly leg, a transfer from Marshall, is the key leg for NC State when championship season comes.

Arizona State took 2nd thanks to, in part, a 58.60 breaststroke split from Silija Kansakoski, while Wisconsin was 3rd in 3:39.84. The defending NCAA Champion and fastest swimmer ever in the event Beata Nelson led Wisconsin off in a nation-leading 50.36.
