Kate Douglass Swims 50 Free PB, Moves to #10 in US History

2021 PRO SWIM SERIES – INDIANAPOLIS (#4)

On the final night of the Pro Swim Series in Indianapolis, UVA swimmer and NCAA National Champion Kate Douglass swam a personal best of 24.54 in the 50 freestyle, making her the 10th-fastest performer in US history. 

Douglass ran down Tennessee alum Erika Brown for the event title during tonight’s competition, after taking the top seed during prelims. Douglass touched the wall in a time of 24.54, to chop about a tenth of a second off of her best time of 24.63 from prelims. 

With her swim, Douglass moves up to #10 all-time in US History, surpassing the aforementioned Brown, who swam a time of 24.57 at the 2020 PSS meet in Knoxville.

Shortly after her 50 freestyle performance, Douglass claimed a second place finish in the 200 IM, behind teammate Alex Walsh, touching in a personal best of 2:10.74.
