General Duties & Responsibilities:
The Head Coach of Women’s Swimming & Diving will oversee all aspects of the program, with a focus on fostering a competitive environment and developing athletes to reach their full potential. Key responsibilities will include:
- Practice and Skill Development: Develop and implement daily practice plans, conditioning regimens, and skill development throughout the season for the women’s swimming & diving team.
- Team Management: Oversee roster management, team logistics, and daily operations for the team.
- Competition & Scheduling: Create the team’s competition schedule, make event & relay decisions, and report results.
- Recruitment & Outreach: Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan in collaboration with the Office of Admission. Perform periodic outreach to team parents and alumni.
- Compliance & Administration: Manage all NCAA, NESCAC, and department-related administrative responsibilities. Ensure adherence to College, NESCAC, and NCAA regulations.
- Team Travel: Plan, coordinate, and supervise all team travel with approval from the Director of Athletics. Must have the ability to drive 12-passenger and 7-passenger vans for team travel.
- Fundraising: Actively participate in program fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Advancement.
- Student-Athlete Development: Support the overall development, well-being, and academic success of each student-athlete.
- Availability: This position requires both night and weekend availability throughout the academic year, as well as attendance at department functions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree preferred in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of head coaching experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities outlined for this position to develop a competitive program
- Certifications: CPR, and First Aid certification required. Lifeguard certification preferred.
- Licenses: Valid state-issued driver’s license required.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to successfully navigate and role model positive communication
- Coaching Knowledge: Knowledge of common coaching practices and the ability to effectively instruct collegiate athletes.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Aquatics, the Head Lifeguard is responsible for overall supervision of the lifeguard staff, including shift scheduling and training. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the pools and swimmers to ensure pool rules are followed and safety is a top priority.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists in the scheduling, training, supervision, development of those supervised in accordance with company policies and directives
Onboards new lifeguards to job duties and responsibilities.
Ensures that all lifeguards are current on their training and certifications
Schedules, coordinates and conducts in service training. Ensures that lifeguards are fully competent in first aid, CPR, and all water rescue techniques

Rescue persons in distress or in danger of drowning when indicated and provide rescue breathing, CPR and First Aid.
