As a Lead Swim Coach, you will:

Head Swim Coach Upper Valley Aquatic Center

POSITION SUMMARY

Our model is predicated on excellent coaching instruction and education delivered consistently throughout the swimmers career.
In building a solid foundation for the future of our program, we ask that applicants have experience in swimming. Applicants should have an understanding of the 4 strokes and have been a member of a swim team in the past. Current USA Swimming coaching certifications are preferred, as are American Swim Coaches Association certifications of any level. Coaches will need to acquire their USA Swimming Coaches certification within 90 days of joining the club, and will need to complete a background check before hiring if they do not currently hold USAS certifications. This is a part time, year round position. Hourly compensation begins at $20hr with growth to $26 upon completion of certifications.
Coaches will work primarily with our Stroke School (developmental 10 and under) Speed School (developmental 11-14) and Age Group (competitive 10 and under) groups. Hours available are Mon-Fri from 330-730pm, but will average 8-12 per week. Coaches will need to be able to be on their feet or in the water for 2-3 hours at a time, actively moving throughout practices. During the summer, coaches will also be outdoors. Coaches with current USAS certifications can make themselves available for swim meets that can be as much as 20 hours 1-2 weekend(s) per month.

National Training Centre (NTC) Senior Co-Lead Coach

The Head Swim Coach of the City of Midland Aquatics, Inc. shall provide leadership for the development and implementation of both short-term objectives and long-range goals of the swim team. The Head Coach shall be responsible for supervision of employees, swim team budget and administration of the day to day swim team operations. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT:
- The Head Coach is responsible for setting the direction and the vision for the team.
- The Head Coach will administer all portions of the Competitive Swimming portion of COM.
- The Head Coach shall design, schedule and conduct work-outs and practices.
- The Head Coach will supervise all swim coaches and practices.
- The Head Coach shall coordinate all aspects involved in hosting competitions.
- The Head Coach shall schedule meetings with parents as required.
