Requirements

Duties

Practice times range from 5:00 to 9:30 pm M-F, Saturday 7:00 am to 2:00 pm with meets offered to swimmers approximately every 3 weeks. We have positions available from our youngest most novice groups to our national level group.

Start Date

Assistant Club Swim Coach

Chartiers Valley Swim Club (CVSC) is looking for part time assistant coaches for the 2014-2015 Short Course season who will work with swimmers ranging from ages 6-18. Practices will typically run from 4:00-8:00PM depending on the day and the training groups in the water. This can be a long-term growth opportunity for an individual who has a strong passion for swimming and desires to work with and develop swimmers of all ages.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have a background in competitive swimming either as a coach or swimmer, and have strong communication skills with swimmers, parents, and coaches. Candidates should possess or be willing to obtain current USA Swimming coach certifications in good standing and pass all required background checks (club will reimburse for expenses).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Applicant duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting practices set forth by the Head Coach for swimmers of all ages and ability levels.
• Follow instructions for practices as requested by the Head Coach.
• Communicating with parents on a limited basis if Head Coach is not available.
• Attending meets throughout the season (no more than 1 per month).
• Promote the team philosophy and foster a positive and friendly practice environment for athletes in the water.

COMPENSATION

Salary for the position of Assistant Coach will range from $9-$12 an hour depending on experience. Coaches will be compensated for travel to meets, certifications, and continuing education costs.

Potomac Marlins (in Northern Virginia) is looking for a primary Age Group coach at our JCC Facility in Annandale, VA. Coach should be up beat and motivational as well as an excellent teacher and communicator with ASCA Level 2 minimum required.

Duties

Coaches primary focus is training the competitive Age Group Aerobic Development and Age Group Stroke Development groups but he/she will also be responsible for working with two non-competitive groups as well. (Basic Conditioning and HS Maintenance).

Coach is responsible for developing the seasonal training plan with guidance from head coach. Swimmers must be taught sound technique and racing skills (starts and turns) as well as being challenged aerobically

Coach is responsible for running a safe and effective workout for all athletes as well as being able to add some fun to workout.

Coach should be on deck 10-15 minutes prior to workout and remain for 10 -15 min post workout to be available for any parent communications.

Coach is training the Age Group Aerobic Development athletes (ages 10-12) to qualify and place at local JO meet and for advancement into Sr. Prep level swimming.

Coach is training the Age Group Stroke Development swimmers (ages 8-10) for advancement into the Age Group Aerobic Development level.

Swim Meet are a required part of job and are typically once per month.

Monthly e-mail communication to families is also required.

Salary

Pay is commensurate with experience.

About Potomac Marlins

Potomac Marlins have grown to be one of the largest teams in USA Swimming, averaging around 500 athletes per season but they retain that “small club feel”. The Marlins have sent swimmers to the highest level meets in USA Swimming, including Olympic Trials, US Open, USA Senior Nationals and Junior Nationals.

Senior Level Group Swim Coaches

Northern Kentucky Clippers is seeking up to three experienced coaches to lead two senior level groups and/or a developmental age group. Successful candidates must demonstrate:

  • successful experience at multiple levels of coaching;
  • experience writing workouts and seasonal planning;
  • a passion for the sport;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • the ability to positively represent the Club throughout the swimming community.

The successful candidate(s) will foster an environment which develops swimmers of all levels and abilities to perform to their potential. All three are hourly positions with competitive reimbursement benefits for all travel. The ideal candidate will be able to start August 30th, 2014.

We are looking for the right candidate(s) to lead three different groups. These positions may be combined to create a position with more hours and closer to full time.
            1. Lead Coach for National Prep Group
2. Lead Coach for Senior Group
3. Lead Coach for AGD4 Group

National Prep – Lead Coach

National Prep is the 2nd highest group in the program. Swimmers in this group aspire to move into the national training program and achieve NCSA Junior Nationals time standards and beyond. This group has practice requirements and is offered after school and before school practices. The successful candidate will work with the head coach to develop seasonal planning and daily workouts.

Senior Group – Lead Coach

The Senior Group of is the first of three senior level groups. It is comprised of approximately 40 swimmers ages 13-18. This group is subdivided (Senior I and Senior II) allowing for training to be specific to swimmers in each group. The successful candidate will be able to prepare swimmers in this group to move into the Prep or National groups.

AGD4- Lead Coach

Age Group Developmental 4 is one of two groups for 11-12 year olds. This group fosters the needs of swimmers who still need refinement in strokes and skills. There are no practice requirements for this group but we encourage swimmers to attend 3-4 of the 5 practices offered each week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR LEAD COACHES

  • Coach a minimum of one group, plus possibly assist with another group;
  • Creates and implements seasonal plan for the group;
  • Writes workouts for different levels within the group;
  • Works with the Head Coach to develop and implement dryland workouts;
  • Attends all lead coaches and staff meetings;
  • Works with Head Age Group and Head Coach to set training schedules; identify criteria for advancement of swimmers; coordinate stroke and training principles;
  • Mentors/monitors the assistant coaches;
  • Communicates with parents, swimmers and coaching staff;
  • Executes vision for the team’s growth and continued success set by team leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong work ethic & passion for the sport;
  • 3+ years coaching experience including writing workouts to different levels within a group;
  • Proven coaching record with excellent swimmer progression/results;
  • Ability to mentor/motivate staff to reach potential;
  • Microsoft Office proficiency preferred;
  • Current USA Swimming membership/certifications required;
  • Working knowledge of Team Unify & Hy-Tek TM preferred.

Burlingame Aquatic Club (BAC): The Head Age Group Coach (HAGC) works directly with the Head Swim Coach (HSC) to lead and manage the entire Age Group Swimming (AGS) program at BAC, a competitive swimming program that BAC operates as part of USA Swimming. The HAGC is responsible for many facets of the program’s operation, growth and success, including administration and oversight, under the guidance and supervision of the HSC.

Hours and Location

This is a full-time position that includes both on-deck hours as well as office hours for program administration and development. Consistent on-site office hours will be established with the HSC to ensure regular contact with other staff members and sufficient time for collaboration.

Duties Include

• Lead, create, and implement a training program for any group(s) under the HAGC’s direct supervision
• Work with the HSC to develop the overall philosophy and structure of the AGS program
• Participate in the development of the annual schedule for all BAC swim groups, including practices, meets, and coaching schedules/assignments
• Coach one of the programs highest level training groups as designated by the HSC, in addition to assisting with other swim groups as requested
• Assist HSC in supervising assistant swim coaches
• Advise HSC in the hiring, firing, and evaluating of all assistant swim coaches
• Participate in the management of AGS program website content, including but not limited to group schedules, program news, team records, athlete awards, etc., as requested by HSC
• Participate in evaluating and supporting BAC’s family service hour requirement
• Share responsibility with HSC for chairing/leading social events for the team with assistance from team parent volunteers, and assist in promoting social events to all team members and families
• Assist in all AGS fundraising campaigns, helping to incorporate assistant coaches and all athletes/families; assist in developing fundraising ideas that will be most effective for each age group
• Assist and advise HSC in developing and implementing education programs for both swimmers and parents in the AGS program
• Attend any Board, Zone, and League meetings as requested by HSC
• Attend all required staff meetings and trainings
• Maintain current certifications as required for the position
• Be prepared to recognize and respond effectively to emergency situations, including emergencies that may happen in non-AGS programs
• Additional duties as requested by HSC

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a career-minded coach who is organized, personable, and able to communicate effectively with parents, young athletes, and co-workers alike. This person must have a strong background in competitive swimming with at least 5 years of coaching experience, and be able to effectively evaluate and implement training philosophies. ASCA Level 2 certification or higher strongly desired. He/she must be able to provide constructive criticism to assistant staff as needed. The ability to set both individual and program goals and to then develop a path to achieve those goals is crucial to success in this role. Regular email, phone, and in-person communication is required, so professional and friendly communication skills are important. Attention to safety and professionalism must be present at all times.

CLPR, a member of the Ohio LSC, is a successful and growing club, having been recognized by USA Swimming with Silver Medal Club and Level 3 Club status. Over 200 swimmers comprise the year-round club. We train at Silverlake “The Family Place”, located in Northern Kentucky just minutes south of Cincinnati, Ohio. This is an hourly position with competitive reimbursement benefits for all travel. The ideal candidate will be able to start August 30th, 2014.

What is the Senior Group?

The Senior Group of the Northern Kentucky Clippers is a group made up of approximately 40 swimmers ranging in age of 13-18. This is the first of three senior level groups in our program. This group is subdivided (Senior I and Senior II) allowing for training to be specific to swimmers in each group. This group has seen significant growth in ability and commitment. We are looking for somebody to continue to lead this group into higher levels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity of the senior group (13-18yr olds) and will assist at least one other age group and report to the Head Coach.

v  Coaches a minimum of one group

v  Creates and Implements Seasonal Plan for Senior Group both Senior I and Senior II

v  Writes workouts for both Senior I and Senior II

v  Works with the Head Coach to develop and then implements Dryland workouts

v  Responsible for attending all lead coaches meetings and all staff meetings

v  Works with Head Age Group and Head Coach to set training schedules, and criteria for advancement of Senior group; coordinates stroke and training principles

v  Mentors/monitors the coaches for the senior group

v  Implements parent education for Senior Group with the assistance of Head Coach

v  Works to & execute vision for the team’s growth and continuing success set forth by the Head Coach

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong work ethic & passion for the sport

• 5+ years coaching experience required with proven ability to write workouts

• Proven coaching record with excellent swimmer progression/results

• Proven ability to mentor/ motivate staff to reach potential

• Working knowledge of Team Unify & Hy-Tek TM required

• Microsoft Office proficiency required

• Current USA Swimming membership/certifications required

Stroke Technique
Our coaches believe that stroke technique must constantly be in the forefront of training if the swimmers are to accomplish their goals.

Endurance Training
As the swimmers age up their endurance training will increase.

Challenging and Fun Competitions
The Clippers host several meets throughout the year which attract competitive swimmers throughout the region. Many of our younger swimmers get the unique opportunity to swim at the very popular Mary Lou Mini Meet which is designed to increase the self-esteem of the young swimmers.

This position is based out of the Global HQ in Seal Beach, CA. Out of the area candidates must be willing to relocate at their own expense.

The TYR Sports Promotions Representative position is to support all promotional needs for swimming, diving and water polo teams and athletes. Ideally, the Representative will have a swimming background and is expected to travel and attend major competitions and events that require a brand presence for the purpose of visibility as well as servicing our professional athletes and sponsored teams.

The Representative also has a business development role and will be expected to have the ability to sell the benefits of the Company’s programs and brand to prospective partners. They will assist with outreach initiatives developed by the department with the goal of acquiring new business. The Representative’s primary responsibilities include interfacing with the Team Sales & Promotions Manager, the TYR Sports Promotions Coordinator and Regional Sales Representatives in order to acquire new teams, service existing teams and work astutely within Salesforce.com to monitor deadlines and requested information. Independently, the Representative must regularly communicate to existing sponsored teams to ensure continuous dialogue and contact between the team and the brand.

It is expected that Representative will, without prompting, assist in meeting all sales program and promotional calendar deadlines.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  1. Assist in departmental outreach initiatives, independently develop relationships and acquire new customers.
  2. Travel and attend major competitions, clinics and other notable events as needed to service team and athlete needs as well as provide a visible brand representative at the event to communicate with teams and athletes.
  3. Manage product requests by sponsored and un-sponsored athletes
  4. Manage and track promotional orders for sponsored athletes, including out-of-system custom orders for National Team events. Ensure all National Team custom products for TYR athletes adhere to National Federation and/or FINA guidelines.
  5. Interface between sponsored teams, accounts and their Regional Sales Representatives to ensure contract fulfillment regarding championship meet qualifier benefits.
  6. Maintain annual event calendar for major competitions, clinics and other notable events as they relate to sponsored team and athlete support. Liaise with Marketing Department regarding any marketing needs at events.

Requirements of position

  1. College diploma preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  2. One to three years promotional, administrative assistance or coaching experience required.
  3. Proficient in PC based computer skills, including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Salesforce.com and Google Enterprise.
  4. Organized, good communication skills, systems friendly, and must possess a multi-tasking ability.
  5. Lifting containers with product and apparel to be used for event presentations. Assisting in the set-up of a display booth for clinics or events. Occasional product testing.
