About Timm Swimm Inc. dba Swimm with Timm: We believe that the best way to learn to swim is by actually swimming! That’s a crazy thought, right? But it’s actually what sets us apart from other swim programs. Timm Swimm Inc focuses on making swimming lessons fun by having students swimming as much as possible during class. We teach more than just water safety; we are a skill-based swim lesson program not an aged-based program. All of our group lessons have a very small student-to-instructor ratio so we can focus on teaching to each student’s individual needs. We are designed to develop the confidence for kids to continue to grow beyond just the basics of swimming! About Timm Swimm Inc. dba Danvers YMCA Dolfins: We are entering our fourth season as a year-round competitive Swim Team. We are predominately a 13 & Under technique-based swim program with three practice groups: Junior Academy (6-12), Academy White (7-12), Academy Red (9-13). The Dolfins practice out of the Danvers Community YMCA and Gordon College locations. With the backing of the Swimm with Timm swim lesson program, they have rapidly expanded the Academy since it was initiated in 2020 to approximately 85 members.
Open Positions:
Swim Instructor
Summary: The Swim Instructor provides skill-based swim and water safety instruction to beginners of all ages. Maintains constant supervision of students at all times to ensure safety. Creates positive, nurturing relationships with students and builds cooperative relationships. Promotes and supports the potential of all students in program.
Required Qualifications
.High School Diploma
.Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certificate
.Must have clean CORI and SORI background check
.Ability to recognize and remedy hazardous and dangerous situations
.Ability to swim in shallow and deep water and tread water
.Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm
.Ability to recognize students who may need assistance
.Ability to demonstrate skills as required for class content and use teaching aids such as kickboards,
diving rings, lifejackets, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
.Bachelor’s Degree
.1-3 years of experience on a competitive swim team
.1-3 years of experience as a swim team coach
.1-3 years of experience as a swim instructor
Assistant Swim Coach
Summary: The Assistant Swim Coach helps oversee the development and strategy of the swim team. Maintains constant supervision of students at all times to ensure safety. May encourage positive and nurturing relationships with parents and caregivers. Promotes and supports the potential of all students in the program.
Required Qualifications
.High School Diploma and 1-3 years swim team experience
.Must have or be able to obtain CPR, AED, First Aid, and Life-guarding Certificate
.Must have or be able to obtain USA Swimming Coach Membership
.Reliable transportation to travel between locations
Preferred Qualifications
.Bachelor’s Degree
.3-5 years of experience on a competitive swim team
.1-3 years of experience as a swim instructor
Program Manager
Summary: In addition to leading skill-based swim and water safety instruction to people of all ages and abilities, the Program Manager is responsible for the daily operations at a specific location. Program Managers are expected to be in the water, teaching lessons approximately 30 hours per week, with additional administrative duties being performed during unscheduled time. The Program Manager always maintains constant supervision of Swim Instructors and students to ensure safety, while promoting the potential of all students in the program. The Program Manager is also accountable for promoting the program to encourage and boost enrollment, creating encouraging relationships with Swim Instructors and students, and building cooperative relationships with parents and caregivers.
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma and 5+ years swim experience
• Must have and maintain CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certificates
• Must have and maintain clean CORI and SORI background check
• Ability to recognize students who may need assistance
• Ability to recognize and remedy hazardous and dangerous situations
• Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm
• Ability to demonstrate skills as required for class content and use teaching aids such as
kickboards, diving rings, lifejackets, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years of experience as a swim instructor
• 3+ years of experience as a swim team coach or on a competitive swim team

Location: Timm Swimm Inc. operates out of Choice Fitness at the Peabody Salisbury and Methuen locations, with our Swim team operating out of Danvers YMCA.
