You bring a proven track-record of building successful swim programs, as a head coach and/or age group coach, that performs at a high level competitively. You can successfully balance the needs of the competitive swim program with developmental / learn-to-swim programs that effectively utilizes the entire coaching staff and puts athletes first. Most of all you want to lead, and grow, a swim team in beautiful Central Oregon.
Your coaching experience
- 7+ years coaching experience demonstrating a record of successful leadership with both developmental and elite swimmers in technique, race strategy, stroke mechanics, age-appropriate dryland training techniques and training methodologies. Strong understanding of overall balance of training for distance, sprint, and taper techniques.
- Ability to analyze swimmer performances and to create appropriate training sessions that reflect those observations.
- Current USA Swimming coach member in good standing, including lifeguard, first aid and all required USA Swimming coach courses and certifications.
- Competitive swimming experience, preferably at or beyond a collegiate level.
- Prior experience working in a non-profit organization and working with a Board of Directors to establish annual business plans that support diverse swim group needs is beneficial.
Your essential responsibilities
- Team and athlete development, including development and oversight of all swimming and dryland programs.
- Ensure competitive opportunities for all athletes and execution of hosted meets.
- Serve as the primary coach for one or more training groups.
- Regular communication with athletes, team families, and community stakeholders.
- Responsible for the hiring, training and development of staff.
- Supervise and manage day-to-day business operations.
- Attend and participate in regular meetings with the Board of Directors.
- Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policies and procedures.
