Practices & Meets:
New swimmer evaluations are typically held at Swarthmore College Ware Pool the week before Memorial Day. Afternoon indoor practices generally begin the Tuesday after Memorial Day in the early evening. Once Wallingford-Swarthmore School District (WSSD) public schools have ended for the school year, practices are held outdoors at SSC in the afternoon and early evening Monday-Friday divided by age and ability. Varsity meets are held on Wednesday evenings and intersquad and unofficial meets, events, or clinics may take place on an occasional weekend morning in consultation with the coach. The season ends with A Champs, typically held the last Saturday in July. Practice and meet schedules are subject to change and the practice schedule can be adjusted based on the swim coach’s availability.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, & EDUCATION
- Current Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid – for adult, infant, toddlers
- Current USA Swim Coach Certified
- Understand the current best practices in learn-to-swim skills, competitive swim techniques and childhood development
- Experience teaching Swim Lessons for all ages
- Experience in Competitive Swimming as a participant or a coach
- ASCA III preferred
- Knowledge of Pool Maintenance/Certified Pool Operator preferred
- Ability to teach Lifeguarding/First Aid/AED/CPR preferred
- Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, and sales techniques.
- Problem Anticipation/ Deductive Reasoning — Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and then apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems and considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Oral Comprehension and Expression —Ability to understand and communicate so others can understand ideas and information.
- Computer – Ability to develop and maintain computer records in Word, Excel and other software required by TBCC.
- Demonstrated ability to support and develop diverse environment.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in personnel supervision, training, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK are essential.

Summary:
The Team & Retail Assistant Manager will assist with aspects of effectively running our Kiefer Aquatics retail store including attending and providing sales and service at related swim meet events and teams affiliated with this location. This is a full-time position, 5 varying days per week. Some weekends will be required.
Essential Functions/Primary Duties:
Customer service is the #1 priority.
- Assist in merchandising, inventory restock & general organization.
- Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with currently assigned teams and prospective customers; Generates profitable new business.
- Makes telephone calls, sends email communications and schedules in-person meetings with existing and prospective customers.
- Provides teams and prospects with proposed pricing for suits, equipment, etc.
- Works with assigned teams to confirm suit choices, cap options, and other equipment and apparel needed.
- Works with assigned teams to schedule fitting dates and times.
- Places orders for all team items purchased (caps and spirit wear) and invoices teams for items paid for by the team; Submit any special orders by following special order process.
- Help with communication and completion of orders for each team. Follow up.
- Maintains team files with pertinent information and documents suit choices, fitting dates, and team incentives using.

- Stays current with product offerings and pricing from all key vendors and manufacturers.
- Works with embroidery and screen-printing vendors to coordinate and design logos and screen printing for suits and other apparel items.
- Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Communicates with store and director on a regular basis.
- Participates in meetings for team sales/store.
- Update customer files and communication
- Attending off-site swim meets and provide retail sales / service support.
- Reconcile and analyze sales after swimming events.
- Process incoming inventory and outgoing orders / shipments (when needed)
- Load company vehicles with merchandise for out of office swim events
- Open and close the store as needed.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer experience (we will train on the usage of our POS system and related software for managing retail operations)

- Knowledge of the swim industry
- Basic computer skills – including Microsoft Office (usage of a retail POS system a plus but not required)
