Boulder Swim Team is a nonprofit USA Swimming program of 70 swimmers in Boulder, Colorado. We practice at East Boulder Community Center September-April and at Scott Carpenter Park May-August. We are seeking new coaching talent to bring their personality and unique experience to our club! Applicants can expect a flexible work schedule and a conscious and competitive environment with coaches working together for the betterment of the team and athletes.
Prospective coaches should enjoy being around kids and athletes of all ages and levels. We strive to build a lifelong love of swimming through the culture of our community, helping to provide world-class competitive instruction in a fun environment where the primary goal is the long-term success of the athlete. Our model is predicated on excellent coaching instruction and education delivered consistently throughout the swimmer’s career.
Applicants should have a basic mastery of the 4 strokes and have been a member of a swim team. Current USA Swimming coaching certifications are preferred, as are ASCA certifications of any level. If necessary, the successful applicant will need to acquire USA Swimming coaching certification within 90 days of joining the club and complete a background check before hiring. This is a part-time, year-round position.
The successful applicant will work primarily with swimmers in our Stroke School (8 and Under), Age Group (10 and Under), and Junior (11-14) Group, coaching during practices for a total of 8-12 hours per week and during weekend meets 1-2 times per month for a total of 15-20 hours. The practice schedule is generally Monday-Friday from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. The duties of the position require coaches to be on their feet for 2-3 hours at a time, actively moving throughout practices and swim meets. During the summer, coaches will also be outdoors. The pay rate is $24.00 per hour, paid biweekly, with no benefits. The start date is to be determined based on applicants.
