Isabelle Stadden, Jaek Horner Named Pac-12 Swimmers of the Week

WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Isabelle Stadden, Sr., CALIFORNIA (Blaine, Minn.)

  • In her final home meet as a Golden Bear, Stadden broke two pool records and led No. 7 Cal to its first win over No. 5 Stanford since 2021.
  • Holding the top score in the event this season, and breaking a Spieker Aquatics Pool record, the senior swam under 1:50 in the 200 back for the second time this season to take home a first-place finish (1:49.64). She is one of two athletes to complete the feat this season.
  • With another stellar first-place finish and pool record, Stadden swam a 50.29 in the 100 Back, just .03 behind her top-3 NCAA time in the event.
  • Assisted in capturing crucial points in the Bears’ 200 Medley (1:34.25) and 400 Free (3:13.49) relays, capturing first in the 200 and second in the 400.
  • Fourth career Pac-12 Women’s Swimmer of the Week/Month and second this season (December 2022; Jan. 30, 2023; December 2023).

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Jaek Horner, Sr., UTAH (Waimanalo, Hawaii)

  • Helped the Utes secure a Senior Day win against No. 17 USC (156-142) with two podium finishes.
  • Contributed nine points to the Utes’ 156 point win with a first-place win in the 100 Breast (53.53).
  • Swimming a 2:00.45, Horner completed his Senior Day meet with a third-place finish in the 200 Breast.
  • Third Utah swimmer or diver to receive back-to-back Player of the Week awards this season (Elias Petersen; Holly Waxman).
  • Second career Pac-12 Men’s Swimmer of the Week award and second this season (Feb. 13, 2024).
