TERRE HAUTE, Ind. –Indiana State Swimming and Diving dominated in the pool on Saturday claiming the Senior Day victory over Eastern Illinois by a score of 212-50 in the Vigo County Aquatic Center.
Surging Sycamores
Senior Alex Malmborg claimed two victories in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.91. While also touching the wall first in the 100 freestyle posting a time of 53.54.
Canada-native Marni Gray also claimed two victories on Saturday in the 200 backstroke posting a time of 2:08.66. While claiming first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.31.
Freshman Sarah Moreau won two events while posting a season best time in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.82. Moreau touched the wall with a time of 2:07.37 in the 200 butterfly, while also claiming the victory in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:09.41.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Marlene Pavlu Lewin, Carmina Armstrong, Marni Gray, and Tori Johns claimed the victory with a time of 1:40.36.
Christensen’s Corner
“It was a great evening for our program. Being able to honor our seniors and reflect on how far this program has come in four years was very special,” head coach Josh Christensen said. “I thought we performed well, given where we are at in the year. It was a productive meet.”

The Eastern Illinois women’s swim team traveled to Indiana State to take on the Sycamores in a dual meet. The Panthers fell to the Sycamores 50-212.
The women were led by Rachel Manderscheid in the 200-breast placing second with a time of 2:35.29. Mia Fries was right behind her in third with a time of 2:36.97.
Other top three finishers are, Jessica Harris in the 1000-free in third with a time of 10:49.57. In the 100-breast Ashley Glesing placed third with a time of 1:09.25.
The quartet of Katy Black, Ashley Glesing, Julia Martin, and Sarah Lohman placed fifth in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:53.79. In the 200-free relay Lily Schafer, Caroline Shively, Sabrina Chu, and Sarah Lohman finished fourth with a time of 1:41.81.
The Panthers return to action on January 4, as the Panthers will travel to Tampa, Florida for the Tampa Relays.
