In-state Standout Ethan Bergmann Commits to Missouri S&T for 2018-19

Rogersville, Missouri’s Ethan Bergmann has committed to swimming for Missouri University of Science and Technology next fall.

Missouri S&T seemed like home from the moment I stepped on campus. The school is the perfect place for me to pursue my academic and athletic goals. No other schools could replicate the feeling of camaraderie I received from Coach Grooms and the rest of the guys. Excited for the future! Go Miners!!”

Bergmann is a senior at Logan-Rogersville High School. He helped lead the Wildcats to a seventh-place team finish at the 2017 MSHSAA Boys Class 1 State Championships last November. Bergmann contributed a fourth in the 100 free (47.77), a sixth in the 200 free (1:43.99), a 22.28 leadoff on the third-place 200 free relay, and a 47.05 anchor on the fifth-place 400 free relay.

Bergmann does his year-round swimming with Springfield Aquatics, where she specializes in back and fly in addition to the freestyle. At Columbia Sectionals in March, he updated his PBs in a slew of events: 50/100/200 free, 100 back, and 50/100 fly. Similarly, at last summer’s Sectionals in Lincoln, Nebraska, he went best times in the 100/200 free and 100 fly.

Top SCY times:

  • 50 free – 21.64
  • 100 free – 47.05
  • 200 free – 1:42.61
  • 50 fly – 23.57
  • 100 fly – 52.77
  • 100 back – 55.25
