Anika Rubocki, a current high school senior from Boise, Idaho, has committed to swim for Division III Bowdoin College. Rubocki will graduate from Bishop Kelly High School in spring 2020 and join the Polar Bears’ class of 2024.
Rubocki is currently a year-round swimmer for the Boise YMCA Swim Team as well as swimming for her high school team at Bishop Kelly. She is also the Idaho 4A state champion in the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke and the 500 freestyle.
Along with swimming, Rubocki has been a ski coach for the past few years. She said she is very excited to be going to a school where she can continue skiing and learn to surf at the same time.
“I was very fortunate to have a lot of really great options. Ultimately, I chose Bowdoin because I fell in love with everything about the college – the history, the campus, the Maine coast and town, the swim team, the mascot, and, of course, the stellar academics. I am excited to become a Polar Bear and to explore all the wonderful options offered at Bowdoin. I am very appreciative of all the support I have received over the years and grateful that my swim career helped create this opportunity for the next chapter of my life.”
With her current best times, Rubocki would have had a few finals performances. She would have placed 8th in the 400 IM (4:33.98) and 10th in the 200 butterfly (2:06.66)

As a team, the Bowdoin Polar Bears placed 5th as a team at the 2020 NESCAC Championships.
Rubocki will begin her swimming career at Bowdoin College in fall 2020.
