Abby Perry of Seneca Valley High School has verbally committed to swim at Youngstown State University. Perry is a talented mid-distance/distance freestyler, extending her range from the 200-1650 freestyle.
Perry swims year-round with the Seneca Valley Swim Club in Pennsylvania. She recently competed at the Allegheny Mountain LC Junior Olympics and notched new personal best times in the 50/200/400 free and the 200 IM. Perry scored in two events, finishing 13th in the 50 free and 6th in the 200 IM.

- 500 free – 5:13.21
- 1000 free – 10:54.88
- 1650 free – 18:17.57
- 200 IM – 2:13.33
Perry is a rising senior at Seneca Valley High School. Last season, she competed at the 2021 AAA WPIAL Swimming Championships and finished 12th in the 200 free and 5th as a part of Seneca Valley’s 400 free relay. Seneca Valley finished 2nd at the meet out of 24 teams.
Perry will be a force in individual events and relays upon arrival in Ohio. Based on the 2020-2021 season, she would’ve been ranked #1 in the 1000 free, #2 in the 200/500 free, and #4 in the 200 IM/1650 free. She split 54.05 on Seneca’s relay, which would rank her as the 4th best 100 freestyler during the 2020-2021 season.
Youngstown State is a Division I Mid-Major school that competes out of the Horizon League. At the 2021 Horizon League Championships, Youngstown State finished 7th out of 7 teams with 614.3 points.
Perry one of two commitments in the class of 2026 for Youngstown State alongside distance swimmer Summer Raymer.
