Emily Feeney, a former swim coach and counselor at the all-boys Malvern Prep School in Pennsylvania, has been arrested and charged with allegedly attempting to seduce a 16-year old member of the school’s swim team.
According to philly.com, the formal charges include institutional sexual assault, corruption of a minor, and other related charges.
The accusations are that Feeney was sending “highly sexualized” texts and emails to the boy and kissed the boy, who claims that he declined her advances according to the district attorney prosecuting the case.
Philly.com has published the text of several alleged exchanges between Feeney and the boy, including emails sent from her school email account. Included among those correspondences are assurances that she would help the boy get into Harvard. Feeney formerly worked in admissions departments at fellow Ivy League schools Princeton and Columbia.
Feeney has been fired by the school and is no longer listed on their staff pages, though an archived version confirms that she was the Director of College Counseling.
The Malvern Prep boys’ swim team finished in 4th place last season at the prestigious prep school Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championships.
