The Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club, better known as FLEET, in suburban Houston has removed the interim tag from Rick Boucher and made him the program’s new full-time head coach.
He replaces Jamie Lewis, who was named the program’s head coach in August 2021 and served in that role for about a year. According to updates to her LinkedIn profile, she has since been working as an account manager for SwimOutlet and as a contract System Tester for USA Swimming.
Boucher was named interim head coach in September 2022.
Boucher’s role officially began on March 31, but he has been with the club since September 2015. He began as an age group coach and then transitioned into coaching senior groups.
In 2021, Boucher was named a Fitter and Faster/ASCA top 50 Age Group Coach.
Before FLEET, he was Head Coach at the Buffalo Area Aquatic Club, Shelbyville Sharks, Paducah Swim Team, and Northern York County YMCA where he has coached his own athletes to US Open Qualifying Standards, Grand Prix Qualifying athletes, Top 10 Nationally Ranked swims, as well as multiple YMCA National Qualifiers.
FLEET was founded in 1976 and opened its own 50 meter facility in 1999.
The club sends a ton of athletes to NCAA Division I athletics every year, including names like Hayden Miller, the top miler in the girl’s high school class of 2022 and National High School Record breaker Cole Cragin.
The program’s best-known former swimmer is Camille Adams, a member of the 2012 and 2016 US Olympic Teams and the 2015 World Championships silver medalist in the 200 fly.
The Cypress-Fairbanks Swim Club is a USA Swimming Silver Medal Club with over 400 swimmers.
