Emory broke its second relay record of the night with a 3:39.57 group effort in the 400 medley relay from junior Cindy Cheng, senior Annelise Kowalsky, senior Marcela Sanchez-Aizcorbe, and sophomore Fiona Muir. It was the same quartet that won the championship final at last year’s meet, but everyone was significantly faster. Cheng led off with a time that is .62 better than her entry time as the #1 seed in the 100 back and .50 faster than her leadoff split last year, stopping the clock at 54.24. Kowalsky went 1:01.93, 3/10 better than a year ago. Sanchez-Aizcorbe posted a 54.35 for her 100 fly, an improvement of more than 1.1 seconds. Muir anchored in 49.05, almost 1.3 seconds faster than her anchor in 2016.
