Marcela started swimming competitively at age 5. She was born in Lima, Peru but moved to Texas. She enjoys reading, current events, and art. Marcela will be attending the business school at Emory and is also interested in political science.

At the Miami Invite, the opening taper meet for Emory, Marcela performed well and earned 5th place in the 100 fly. At UAAs Marcela again got 5th in the 100 fly and 11th in the 200 fly. At NCAAs, Marcela dropped in the 50 free(23.85) and 200 fly(2:05.32) from in season and came in 19th in the 200 fly.


At UAAs, Marcela impressed by dropping time in all of her events. She placed 1st in the 100 fly and 3rd in the 200 fly. She also came in 9th in the 50 free with a sizable drop. At NCAAs, Marcela again dropped in her events, earning 9th in the 100 fly(56.26) and 10th in the 200 fly(2:04.58).
