BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team faced off against the Eastern Michigan Eagles today. The Falcons lost 131-168.

The Falcons were led by their swimming, and Daisy Platts in particular. Platts once again won all of her individual events, and this weekend, even won all of her relay races. Platts also broke into the record books for the first time in the 2021-22 season with her time of 54.65 in the 100 backstroke, which lands her the 4th best time in the event in program history.

Falcon relay teams also raced very well. In both relay events, the 200 medley and 400 freestyle, Falcon relay teams won. The team of Platts, Taylor HarrisAnna Eriksson and Elayna Krupp were victorious in the 200 medley, while the team of Platts, Krupp, Riley McNichols and Eriksson won the 400 medley.

Those relays were just a part of freshman Elayna Krupp’s great day. She claimed her first collegiate victory in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.98. She also finished third in the 100 freestyle to round out her individual events.

Falcon diving, however, had a rough day. Their highest finisher was Kylie Mosset’s second place finish in the 3-meter dive. Grace Ellis captured the Falcons’ only other top-three finish with a third place score in the 1-meter dive.

Rickey’s Remarks
“I’m happy with the way we performed, they’re a tough team. We swam well, we did everything well. There are a few things we have to work on a little more, turn work and finishes. But the swimming part was really good. We’re well on our way to keep improving and take incremental small steps to get better and better each day”
