The Dutch team announced their roster for the 2014 Short Course World Championships in Doha, Qatar that begin this Wednesday, sending a total of eight women.

The Dutch squad will consist of  Inge Dekker,  Femke Heemskerk, Ranomi Kromowidjojo,  Maud van der Meer,  Moniek Nijhuis,  Sharon Rouwendaal,  Rieneke Terink and Esmee Vermeulen.

Inge Dekker is one of the biggest names on the roster and had an amazing world cup series this year demonstrating that she has plenty of talent in the short course pool. Dekker racked up a total of 372 points on the circuit overall to finish second behind Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu.

She’ll be swimming the 50 freestyle and 100 fly at Worlds.

Femke Heemskerk is also in a good position heading into the meet having broken the Dutch record in the 200m IM this fall. Heemskerk swam a time of 2:06.88 to break that record, a time which currently ranks her third in the world.

I wonder if they’ll field a 4x100m medley relay? Heemskerk could swim the back, the Nijhuis on breast, Dekker the fly and Kromowidjojo on free.
