DePietro, Kinney Earn AAC Swimmer of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s swimming and diving honors for the week ending Dec. 6.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Ryan DePietro • Jr. • Cincinnati • Lancaster, Ohio
DePietro produced a pair of NCAA B standard times and an Olympic trial time over the weekend in the Hoosierland Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. The junior began Day 2 with a time of 4:27.33 in the 400-meter individual medley, finishing within the Olympic cut time of 4:27.49. Later in the day,  DePietro placed runner-up in the 400-yard individual IM with a NCAA B time of 3:50.64. The product of Lancaster, Ohio, recorded a NCAA B cut time in the 200-yard butterfly, touching wall at 1:46.05.

Kinney swept the diving events in a nine-person field at the Rutgers Quad Meet over the weekend. The sophomore defeated the field in the 1-meter with a score of 264.50 and took first in the 3-meter with 313.30 points.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Jacqueline Keire • Jr. • Cincinnati • Burlington, Ontario
Keire registered three individual wins for the Bearcats at the Hoosierland Invitational. The junior produced a first-place time of 22.60 in the 50-yard freestyle on Day 1. The following day, Keire finished the 200-yard freestyle with the top time of 1:43.33. The Ontario native closed out the weekend with a winning time of 48.35 in the 100-yard freestyle. In relays, Keire helped Cincinnati to three third place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:33.51), 800-yard freestyle relay (7:24.76) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:45.00).

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FEMALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Taryn Urbanus • Sr. • UConn • Quincy, Mass.
Urbanus competed in the Rutgers Quad Meet in Piscataway, N.J. The senior produced a runner-up finish in the 1-meter with a score of 285.65 and placed fourth on the 3-meter platform with 262.50 points.
