EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 1, 2022) – Mount St. Mary’s water polo student-athletes Ana Luisa Cotta and Rebecca Valentine were given Collegiate Water Polo Association weekly honors. Cotta received a Player of the Week nod, with Valentine winning Rookie of the Week.
Cotta and Valentine both played a role in securing the Mount’s first-ever conference win – a 12-10 victory over Saint Francis U. A sophomore from Orlando, Cotta scored four times and led the Mountaineers in steals with five and assists with three. Valentine led in goals with five and drawn exclusions with six, helping the Mount create plenty of 6v5 chances.
The duo take charge in goal scoring, combining for 108 scores this season.
Standing at 8-19 (1-8 CWPA), Mount St. Mary’s plays three games in Princeton to close out CWPA regular season competition.
