China Goes 1-2 In Women’s 10 Meter Platform Diving Event, Keeping Diving Sweep Hopes Alive

China continued their quest to sweep all eight diving events alive as Quan Hongchan won the women’s 10 meter platform event, winning China its 5th diving gold in Paris.

Quan defended her title from Tokyo as she won gold in a final score of a 466.20 then. Here in Paris she had a final score of a 425.60. She led the entire competition and had her highest scoring dive in round 4 as she scored 92.40 points.

Also defending her silver medal was Chen Yuxi of China. Chen was 2nd throughout the competition and had her highest scoring dives in rounds 3 and 4 as she scored 89.10 points in both rounds. Quan and Chen combined for the 10 meter synchro title earlier in the Paris Games.

The bronze medalist for the 10 meter event was North Korea’s Kim Mi-Rae. Kim had a final score of 372.10 points. She opened competition strong, with a her highest dive of 80.00 points in the first round. Kim notably won silver in the 10 meter synchro event already in Paris.

China now has 3 events remaining as they hope to sweep all 8 diving titles. They won all but one event in Tokyo.

I watched and they are a different class. Today I watched W 3meter and they said China has won the last 9 Olympics on 3 meter!
They are dominant!
