Butler Reels in Emma Spotts and Megan Hanson to Class of 2021

The Butler University Women’s Swimming and Diving Team has received a pair of verbal commitments from Emma Spotts of Littleton, Colorado, and Megan Hanson of Keller, Texas.

Emma Spotts

Spotts is a senior at Heritage High School in Littleton. She placed third in the 100 breast (1:04.28) and sixth in the 50 free (24.66) at the CHSAA Girls 4A State Championships in February. She also contributed to Heritage’s second-place 200 free relay and third-place 200 medley relay. Spotts swims club with Highlands Ranch Aquatics. Her best SCY times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:04.02
  • 200 breast – 2:21.79
  • 50 free – 24.50
  • 100 free – 54.33
  • 100 fly – 1:00.27

Megan Hanson

Hanson attends Keller High School in Keller, Texas, for whom she swims primarily free and back. In club swimming she competes for Lakeside Aquatic Club in Flower Mound. There, Hanson specializes in free, fly and back. She achieved several personal bests at the recent Lakeside Stampede, where she finaled in multiple events. Her best SCY events are:

  • 50 back – 26.89
  • 100 back – 58.08
  • 200 back – 2:06.45
  • 50 free – 24.75
  • 100 free – 53.12
  • 200 free – 1:53.42
