17 year old Aleksa Bobar set a new 17-18 year old record in the men’s 400 IM on the first day of the Serbian National Championships in Belgrade. Bobar, who won a bronze at the European Youth Olympic Festival last summer, took the event in a time of 4:35.82 beating the record of 4:36.48 set by Igor Terzic in 2012. He demolished his own personal best of 4:44.38, which he posted in April of last year.
European Championships gold medalist Velimir Stjepanovic won the men’t 400 freestyle with ease touching in a time of 3:51.03 finishing over 10 seconds ahead of the field. He was just over three seconds off his 2015-16 season’s best of 3:47.75, which he put up in November at the World Cup in Dubai.
In the other men’s events Ivan Lendjer won the 100 butterfly by over two seconds recording a 53.30, Kristian Lakatos touched first in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:19.56 while Andrej Barna won the 50 freestyle in a time of 23.23.
Winners in the women’s events included:

- Dobromira Ivanova – 100 butterfly – 1:02.15
- Tanja Smid – 200 breaststroke – 2:29.18
- Miroslava Najdanovski – 50 freestyle – 26.29
- Teodora Milosevic – 400 IM – 5:19.04.
