Break out the baby jammers!! Just roughly 9 months after announcing their engagement, the greatest Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps and fiancee, Nicole Johnson, have announced they are expecting their first child.
Per Phelps’ Instagram account, the couple found out 8 weeks ago that Ms. Johnson was pregnant, and she is now approximately 12 weeks along. That time puts the birth in the May time frame, approximately, which is about 4 weeks prior to the Olympic Trials and 2 months prior to Rio.
The post also points out that it looks like the two will be welcoming a boy.

Congrats Michael and Nichole! It’s strange to think that the focus in rio won’t be on Mike’s mom, it’ll be on the baby.? I’m so happy for the two of you and am so excited to see the athlete I look up to being a parent.

Congrats to them both, but I sympathize with Nicole. Even with help, can you imagine wrangling a 2 month old onto a plane and caring for him from a hotel room and the stands during an Olymipic event? Forget how tired he’ll be – by the end of that, she may not care if he wins 😉
