Audrey Derivaux Continues To Shine Clocking 4:45.60 400 IM, 1:01.56 100 Back In Austin

2024 FUTURES CHAMPIONSHIPS- AUSTIN

14 year old Audrey Derivaux of Jersey Wahoos had another big swim in Austin this week, this time posting a 4:45.60 in the 400 IM. That was just off her personal best of a 4:45.23 that she swam to make the final for the event at 2024 US Olympic Trials.

Later in the session, Derivaux posted a personal best time in the 100 back clocking a 1:01.56. That was faster than her previous best of a 1:01.66 that she swam in May. She now moves up from #17 to #15 in the all-time US age group rankings. She has dropped over a second in the event in the last year, also helping improve her IM abilities as well.

The other winner on the girls side of the night came from Madi Mintenko who swam a 54.85 in the 100 freestyle. That was faster than her previous best time of a 55.09 that she swam for 24th in prelims at US Olympic Trials. Her best time coming into the season was a 55.34 from 2023 Summer Junior Nationals.

After winning the 100 breast last night, rising Texas sophomore Nate Germonprez was one of two swimmers under the 50-second mark in the 100 free. Germonprez swam to a 49.46 while Camden Taylor touched in a 49.95. The swim was Germonprez’s first time under the 50 mark as his old best time was a 50.02 from May.

Indiana commit for 2025 Noah Cakir swam to a best time in the 200 fly last night and had another best time tonight, swimming a 4:21.29 in the 400 IM for the win. That was faster than his previous best of a 4:21.81 from 2023 Summer Junior Nationals.

Incoming transfer to Texas Ben Sampson swam to a win in the 100 back touching in a 55.54. Sampson is still listed under Maverick Aquatics in Colorado. His time from today was faster than he was at US Trials as he swam a 55.74 last month.
