There is something wrong with Ms Nay’s tweet. From her 2.11 + time I think she is well into her annual Euro holiday.

Last year they were complaining they earnt below minimum wage. Euro holidays Yay,

As a Cal fan I am hoping that Missy Franklin takes time off to relax, be with family and friends, then off to Cal. I cannot believe all the swim meets, community events and award ceremonies et al that she participated in the last 6 months… not to mention the Olympics!

As they do with the athletics the defending world champion should qualify automatically and their country allowed an extra competitor for that event. Jamaica were allowed 4 athletes in the 100m because Blake won in 2011, everybody else had a maximum of 3. Swimming would therefore be 3 and 2.

Yes . I think track is much better for having defending champions . Even if it a farewell performance . They still have to get through the heats.

Perhaps I’m the only one in the world but I’m not fan of the person and generally of the men’s sprint.
Ashton Eaton is the greatest athlete in the world.
And my eyes of love were on Tirunesh Dibaba. 🙂

I am not a big fan of Declathon(Okay, i was a fan of the Atari game…).
Dibaba is great, as is Mo Farah.
I like Rudisha power in 800 meter race. Its beginning to become a sprint race because of him.

I did, of course. Gatlin was a very happy runner-up. Then it was all about Jamaica again.

They are having the discussion about should the number of participants from one country be restricted further at the helm of athletics. I don’t believe it’s going to happen considering the intensity of specialization of certain countries on single events. An universality principle is easier to apply in aquatics in more extreme fashion.

Yep, we’re going off-topic all the time and I’m not innocent of it. 🙂 haha.

Argh. I’m writing too fast with my bad English. I meant: “in the realm of athletics”, not “at the helm”.

That happened with swimming in the 80´s.Because of US dominance, COI made the limit of 2 swimmers per country rule.

It was two per event in Rome 1960 and went to 3 in 64 again.

By the way, I’d like to know the reason for the disqualification of Ottesen? It seemed she surfaced too late, I mean after the 15 meter mark. I think it was very close at the World Championships as well. I even mentioned it then.

Inferred from their faces they are going to holiday:

There seem to be enough room for French, Spaniard, American and Dane on a back seat.
