The Fitter & Faster Swim Tour Presented by SwimOutlet.com is ramping up its 2015 event calendar, with over 50 events booked for the year so far. As swimmers, coaches and parents return for their third, fourth or even fifth clinic, the company continues to invest heavily in the development of new and innovative course curriculums.
In addition to providing an inspirational opportunity for swimmers to meet Olympic stars, the Fitter & Faster Swim Tour is dedicated to making sure that participants, parents and coaches leave enriched.
To further differentiate and ensure that participants will learn new skills and habits that will make them better, three-time Olympian Kara Lynn Joyce has been named the company’s new Curriculum Director.
Joyce engages in every aspect of the Fitter & Faster experience.

“Kara has been very proactive, sharing thoughts on clinics and has been concerned with feedback from events. She consistently strives to do better and since the beginning, has even provided input on clinics where she was not teaching,” adds FFT founder and CEO David Arluck.
The four-time Olympic medalist will be an integral part of every Fitter & Faster clinic. In conjunction with Fitter & Faster management, she will help host teams plan the best curriculum for their needs, shape the course material and help prepare clinicians for their events.

“I fell in love with Fitter & Faster at my very first clinic,” says Joyce, who was struck by the level of organization she saw. “From the moment you walk into a clinic, they transform the pool into an outstanding learning environment for kids.”
Joyce was an obvious choice for the new position, says Arluck. “Kara is a conscientious educator and an attentive listener. She works well with swimmers of all ages, from the youngest age-groupers through Masters swimmers. She is well-respected by her peers.”
Fellow 2012 Olympian and fellow FFT clinician Connor Jaeger says he benefited from Joyce’s tutelage. “Kara helped guide me from working as an athlete/competitor to working as a clinician.”
The Fitter & Faster Swim Tour continues to provide the best learning platform for swimmers in the country. In additional to the popular Essentials and High Performance clinics, the 2015 event calendar will include more laser-focused events.
These include more Elite and Advanced camps, as well as an entire clinic devoted to starts, turns and individual medley transitions. Other events will add a mental component to the pool and dryland work, teaching swimmers to develop a championship mindset.
“Over the last several months, we have produced exciting programs that attract participants from all over the country — not just those who live within 100 miles of a particular facility. The best swimmers are inquisitive and want to get better. They travel to get to the best camps and clinics in the United States. It’s our responsibility to stay on the cutting edge and to continually improve the experience,” notes Arluck.

Congratulations to Kara, Arluck, and the FFT!
I’ve run several FFT clinics with Kara and must agree that she is far and away the right choice for this position. As she has firsthand experience from dozens upon dozens upon dozens of these clinics, she has an innate sense of what can be accomplished and what elements can be fine-tuned, even on the fly. In a broader sense I’m also thrilled to see how well the clinic is approaching the challenges of maturing. This is a great move at a great time.
