Can anyone explain to me how Simone Biles is consider the GOAT when Larisa Latynina more gold medals and 7 more medals?
It’s called “skills”
And they include Olympics and WCs
Not much competition during Larisa Latynina days. In the US zero gymnasts of Simone Biles or Suni Lee category! and there was no Algerian either!
Apart from TEAM USA swimming atop the medals table in both Golds and total medals, YESTERDAY’S TEAM USA win in the 100 meters dash was sooooooooo exciting! The fact that 3 Americans were there will undoubtedly mean that TEAMS USA’s 4 X 100 meter relay for men will be a superb moment later in the week. PS: Women’s Rugby bronze was one I won’t forget for a long time, too!
‘
USA men will still need to pass the baton safely which they have a bad track record of doing.
Exactly. A great example of that was at ’22 Worlds when the US women beat Jamaica when they shouldn’t have been close on paper. Jamaica didn’t even do anything horribly bad on their exchanges, but the US was close to perfect.
May be the US lost the mixed relay for two reasons: peaking in the semis, and not all top relay racers made it to the olympics.
The extended intro to that was so mean. Those poor dudes were standing there for an eternity.
