But the future of this race in USA looks much better now than after London. You have young promising swimmers for the next years. Justin Wright, Corey Okubo, Justin Lynch or Andrew Seliskar on the men’s side who are 16 or 17 and who already swim around 1.57/1.59. Cassidy Bayer, 13, and Katie McLaughlin, 15, are also 2 stars in the making. These youngsters will be ready for 2016.
OK, times are really slow in the women’s 200 fly. But it’s not surprising. It’s the weakest race in USA on the women’s side for a few years now perhaps with the 50 free too. If Miss Adams wants a medal in Barcelona she will have to swim under 2.06.
Men’s 200 fly is also one the weakest races in USA now. However, big time for Tom Luchsinger. He has confirmed his great season so far. I had picked him for a qualification but I didn’t expect a 1.55. He has very well honoured the US tradition in this race after Mel Stewart, Tom Malchow and of course the king Michael Phelps.
