Olivia Gonder of Magnolia, Texas has committed to swim for Illinois State University beginning in the fall of 2020. Gonder’s club team, Magnolia Aquatic Club, posted the following on Twitter:

Gonder qualified for the 2019 Futures meet in the 200 IM and the 100 fly in February of 2018. She swam the 200 IM at the Texas 5A State Meet, placing fifth in a time of 2:06.31. She also placed seventh in the 100 breast, third in the 200 medley relay, and first in the 200 free relay.
A week later, Gonder swam the 100 fly at the GU TWST Champs, winning the event with a time of 57.25.
During her freshman season, both of her relay teams took first place at the Texas 5A Championships. As a junior at Magnolia High School, Gonder competed in two individual events and two relays at the 2019 Texas 5A Championships. Gonder finished third in the 100 breast and fifth in the 200 IM. She led off her team’s 400 free relay in a personal best time of 52.18, and again went that time in March of 2019.

- 50 back – 27.10
- 200 IM – 2:06.31

- 100 fly – 57.25
Gonder’s 100 breast time would have been the Illinois State’s second-fastest this past season, right behind that of rising senior Jensen Keck. In the fall of 2020, her 100 back time would be second only to rising sophomore Julie Kolar and her 100 fly would put her right behind Haley Rivera. Gonder’s times would have placed her in the C-final in the 100 back, the B-final in the 200 IM and 100 fly, and the A-final in the 100 breast at the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Championships.
