On Friday, Swimming Australia president Barclay Nettlefold stood accused of making inappropriate comments to a consultant while the two were alone in an elevator at last month’s Australian National Championships, for which he apologized. Shortly thereafter, however, more accusations came forward from the same meet from more witnesses.
According to Australian media, including news.com.au, Nettlefold has been “stood down” as a result of the new accusations, which means that he will be temporarily suspended while the organization investigates the situation further.
Media reports cite an incident on April 16th, where in front of “several high ranking Swimming Australia officials” Nettlefold allegedly made inappropriate comments about a female sports scientist who was not present, among other in appropriate comments. From news.com.au:
Nettlefold is alleged to have made comments about a female sports scientist while she was out of the room, suggested team rooms be checked for sex toys and condoms and later told those present in the room to call him “donkey” in reference to the size of his genitals.
The decision was made by the Swimming Australia Board of Directors, who said that they take the allegations very seriously.

So seriously all these high ranking officials stood around & did not one thing . No one said – Hang on mate – stop right there.
And they run to the media 6 weeks later? Huh?
I am not getting the lemmings here & the universal victim in the lift .
Every meeting between more than one official needs Eammon to run amok with his geriatric cart to disperse them before they make themselves bigger fools.
