Becca Meyers Breaks World Record in S13 200 Meter IM on Saturday at Para Pan Pacs

American Becca Meyers has broken the World Record in the S13 women’s 200 IM on Saturday night in Pasadena, California, while racing at the 2014 Para Pan Pac Championships.

Meyers swam a 2:26.86, which broke the 2:27.64 that Canadian Valerie Grand-Maison swam at the Paralympic Games.

Grand-Maison retired just days before this meet began, which upset a scheduled “dream matchup” between the two. Meyers now holds World Records in the 200 IM, 400 IM, 400 free (set earlier this week), 800 free, and 1500 meter freestyle events.

Meyers was one of three American women to win across nine 200 IM races on day 4 of Para Pan Pacs.
