2016 SwimSwam NCAA Women’s Pick ‘Em Contest

At long last, the Pick ‘Em Contest for the 2016 Women’s NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships is here.

This year, we’ve migrated to a new format that allows us to give our users the ability to pick much deeper into the seeds for their favorites. Specifically, we’ve listed out the top 30 seeds in each individual eventand the

Just like previous years, you will choose your top 4 finishers in each event, but unlike prior years, there will be no “other” option. We have also added a section to choose the top 10 finishing teams in the overall team battle, which will carry big weight toward the overall final standings.

Scoring System

Correctly picking a swimmer to place:

  • 1st – 7 points
  • 2nd – 5 points
  • 3rd – 4 points
  • 4th – 3 points

Correctly picking a swimmer to place in the top 4, but putting them in the wrong spot, will earn you 1 point.

In the team picks, correctly picking a team to finish in exactly each place will earn this many points:

  • 1st – 20
  • 2nd – 17
  • 3rd – 16
  • 4th – 15
  • 5th – 14
  • 6th – 13
  • 7th – 12
  • 8th – 11
  • 9th – 9
  • 10th – 7

Picks will close at 4PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, March 16th, and at that time, we will post everyone’s picks for them to see.

By using the new Google Forms format, you CAN go in and edit your responses up until 4 PM on Wednesday. You can also use this “edit responses” ability to go in and print or save your answers.

The tie-breaker for prizes, if necessary, will be the most correctly-picked winners, then 2nd-place finishers, then 3rd-place finishers, etc. in the relevant time period.

I feel really good about my picks this year. Taper was strong, no nagging injuries and 100% healthy. Haven’t cracked the top 50, ever, but this is my year.

I have once again wasted 15min filling this out, and will eagerly await scrolling down for hours looking for my inevitably dissapointing results.

There seems to be an issue with picking the team scores as google is requiring me to input a place for each team to submit, and only allows one pick per column. Is there a way of getting around this?

Similarly, I tried to change my 10th place team and now I have two teams selected for 10th (and it won’t let me submit). It switches off but only if you select another place (and I don’t want to put this team in the top 10).

Thank you! Unfortunately it won’t let me submit so I’ll have to close the browser and start over.
