Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Anne Dickinson, a YMCA Nationals and Wisconsin high school state champion, has committed to swim for Indiana University in 2026. A freestyle and backstroke specialist, she currently trains with the Schroeder YMCA Swim Team and is a junior at Whitefish Bay High School.
Dickinson isn’t the only swimmer in her family. Her sister, Maggie Dickinson, was a Wisconsin high school state champion as a freshman this season, winning the 50 free and 100 back. Maggie also competed in the 2024 Olympic Trials in the 200 back, posting a time of 2:16.19. Their father, Doug Dickinson, was an All-American and team captain at Texas in the early 1990s.
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Indiana University! I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for the endless support! A special thank you to Coach Ray and Coach Noelle for this amazing opportunity! GO HOOSIERS❤️🤍”
Dickinson was a four-time champion at the 2024 WIAA Girls Division 2 State Championship (SCY) in November, winning the 200 free (1:49.36), 500 free (4:54.20), 200 free relay (23.22), and 400 free relay (51.33). Both her 200 free and 500 free were personal bests at the time.
She was also the state runner-up in the 50 free (23.52) as a freshman and the state champion in the 50 free (23.82) as a sophomore. Dickinson holds her school’s records in the 200 medley relay, 200 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 200 free relay, 100 back, and 400 free relay.
More recently, Dickinson won the 200 free (1:47.95) at the 2025 YMCA National Short Course Championships this month, qualifying for the Summer Junior Nationals. She also placed 2nd in the 1000 free (9:57.68), which qualifies her for Junior Nationals, 3rd in the 500 free (4:52.11), and 15th in the 50 free (23.79).
At the 2025 WI Wisconsin LSC SC Senior Championship in February/March, Dickinson set personal bests in the 50 free (23.16), 200 free (1:48.65), and 500 free (4:48.99), winning all three events. She also placed 5th in the 100 free (51.37) and 100 back (55.84), with her backstroke time remaining as her lifetime best.
In April 2024, Dickinson competed at the YMCA National Championships (SCY), where she became a two-time finalist. She placed 4th in the 500 free (4:57.12) and 6th in the 200 free (1:50.43) and also finished 9th in the 200 back (1:59.22) and 12th in the 100 free (50.94), both of which are lifetime bests.

The Hoosiers finished 2nd at the 2025 Women’s Big Ten Championships, falling short to Ohio State. The previous season, Indiana won the championship. Dickinson has been steadily dropping time in her events, particularly in the 200 free and 500 free, and still has another year to continue improving.
The fastest 200 free and 500 free times for the Hoosiers this season were set by senior and Olympic silver medalist Anna Peplowski. She won the NCAA Division I Championship in the 200 free (1:40.50) and captured 1st in the 500 free (4:33.86) at the Big Ten Championship.
Dickinson will join Elizabeth Eichbrecht, Paige Downey, Eva Rottink, Emma Belk, Ava Metzger, Zoe Defabrique, and Kayla Han as part of Indiana’s 2026 recruiting class. Eichbrecht (1:45.54) and Han (1:46.28) also hold strong times in the 200 free.
