Emily Overholt will be looking to take her talents to the top of the podium in the 400m IM today, entering the event as the top seed. Overholt comes in fresh after scratching the 400m freestyle on day one to focus on the 400 IM.

The 400 IM has quickly proven to be one of her best events. Overholt earned a bronze medal a the World Championships in the 400m IM, sitting a new Canadian record of 4:32.52.

So far this season Overholt has danced with the FINA ‘A’ time that she will need in order to qualify for the Canadian Olympic team in tonight’s final assuming she makes it.

Following her focus event, Overholt will swim the 200m freestyle in the next few days in order to try and qualify for the 4×200 freestyle relay. Overholt enters the event as the top seed, and will only need a top four finish in order to qualify.

Overholt is entered in both the 200m IM and 200m butterfly on Saturday, but told SwimSwam on Monday that she will only swim one of the events, and will decide on the day which one.
