Asbury University just returned from 2016 NAIA National Swimming and Diving Championships where the men and women both improved in the team standings from a year ago. The men climbed the ladder from 15th to 9th place and the women improved from last year’s 18th place finish to ending the 2016 meet at 15th.
Asbury University swimming and diving team member Seth Manley, a Media Communication major, has been collecting photos and video of the team all season. He put together this video to capture the last day of 2016 NAIA Nationals.
Manley noted, “Keith Jessee’s go at the 200 IM in the prelims had him seeded second and saw a school record shattered by four seconds. He turned in a 1:50.85 in the prelims and came back in the evening finals to place fifth with a time of 1:52.68 tied for the highest Asbury finish of the day.
“The Men’s 800 Free Relay team set a new record en route to another fifth place finish for the team. They turned in a combined effort from Jessee, Joshua Fritz, Tommy Otley, and Colt Rasmussen of 6:53.39.”
